Is it possible to purchase Plane Tickets in one country but flying from a different country?

Is it allowed, possible and or legal to buy plane tickets in one country (business class) say in the UK from New Zealand using the internet for flights to the UK from New Zealand. On occasions it seems to be less expensive.|||There are no restrictions with regards to purchasing tickets in other countries. I have had no problem in purchasing Australian domestic business class flights with Qantas from the United States. I know of people who live in Australia and fly frequently to the UK. They often purchase return tickets originating in London because it is cheaper e.g. LHR-SYD-LHR first class is approximately 拢5,260 whilst SYD-LHR-SYD first class is approximately $16,000 (拢8,500).|||If you have asked this question only 10 years ago I would have said it might be a problem. Tickets sold outside the country of departure (SOTO = Sold Outside, Ticketed outside) could get you into trouble. Then it was highly recommended to buy SITI (Sold Inside, Ticketed inside).

But today with the internet and e-tickets no problem at all. In fact you are probably buying SITI anyway despite doing it from a computer elsewhere in the world.|||Most airlines allow ticketing to take place in a different country from that of where travel will occur.. In some cases the airline may price tickets in a "neutral unit of currency" or what's know as NUC's-- commonly the US Dollar-- in selected markets where the local currency is restricted or otherwise volatile in trading.. but that wouldn't prohibit you from ticketing..

Most major countries, like the UK, NZ, US, etc., all allow for cross country ticketing.|||Hi yes you can.with the advent of E-Tickets it's possible to achieve this and even book and pay for someone else. Most major air-line companies have a top drop down box on their main page web sites asking country to which the ticket needs to addressed and or depart from.Note the correct details on the persons passport is a must for check-in.|||Yes, in this age you can your tickets in Timbaktoo and fly off from Uganda
