Will every family own a plane in the future?

We just need an affordable plane to start the revolution, just like the Model T did with cars. Owning a car once seemed to be a luxury, but that changed quickly.

In the future, will commuters go to work on their own jets and airplanes?|||I really hope not. Besides, many people are scared to fly when they're a passenger, let alone flying a plane themselves. If everyone owned an aircraft then it would take the fun out of flying. It wouldn't be as special or exclusive. It would cause many problems if that many people were in the air at the same time traveling at such high speeds. Plus, with the economy and fuel prices the way they are, I highly doubt that will happen, because airplanes, especially jets, gulp fuel in gallons a minute. It wouldn't be economical or practical to fly a jet to work when it's only five or ten, or even 50 miles away. I hope aircraft stay commercial , so we can have all those big, loud jets and the huge, busy airports. If everyone owned a plane, then we would have a bunch of tiny boring airplanes flying in the sky hitting into each other It would be really weird without commercial aircraft. Just imagine if everyone drove the same car or everyone drove fast, racing cars. What would be so exciting and special about yours?|||We don't even have a car for every family and your'e talking about jets?|||That would be something wouldn't it. While you guys are all fighting in the sky I'll be driving a mclaren or something fast on the road and beat you all by a mile. And if there's no roads then I guess a monster truck and a little offroading never hurt.|||I sure hope not. If people were to fly the way they drive we could all be in trouble. Right now when there is a traffic accident the wreckage ends up on the side of the road. If aircraft were to collide in the sky, wreckage would be everywhere and falling on everything. Some people (a small percentage to be sure) should not, but do, drive. Imagine that same percentage flying!! It gives me a head ache thinking about it!|||At the rate the world economy is collapsing now, it will be a miracle if we all still have cars ten years from now, much less personal airplanes.

So the answer is No--not a chance.

And that's a good thing, too. Nothing in human history suggests that people can learn to fly airplanes in large numbers. It would be carnage.|||alot of people can buy a plane now. you can buy a good used plane for about the price of a new VW but i don't think that everybody is going to take the time and effort to learn to fly a plane just so they can get to work a little faster|||In the future, only Al Gore will be allowed to fly. We will ride old bicycles.

However, if you want to dream, here's the site: http://www.moller.com/
