What is the name of the people who investigate plane crashes?

Yea you know how that one airplane that crashed into a house in Buffalo New York? You know the people who investigated it, and came to a conclusion that when auto pilot tipped the plane down to get speed, and reacting the pilots pulled back, stalling the plane? What is the name of he people who came to that conclusion, and investigated that?|||NTSB -- National Transportation Safety Board

They handle civil (as opposed to military) transportation accident investigations.

Of course, other organizations also investigate accidents. The airline does, the manufacturer of the plane might, the local police might, etc. But the NTSB are probably the guys you're looking for.

Looking at that accident in Buffalo, the article says --

`NTSB official Stephen Chealander tells reporters that the crew of Flight 3407 reported significant ice buildup on the windows and leading edge of the wings prior to crashing.'
